Job Title Engineer Grade I (Mechanical And Electrical)

The Office of Public Works (OPW) manages and maintains the State’s property portfolio and has the responsibility for the day to day running of all National Monuments in State care and National Historic Properties.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical services), the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and direction of the work of the Mechanical & Electrical Section which is involved in the design and maintenance of building services in existing and new buildings for Government Departments and other State organisations. S/he and will have responsibility for significant work programmes in construction, maintenance or energy conservation.

The successful candidate will have:

• a qualification at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and will be a registered Chartered Engineer;

• a minimum of five years’ relevant post qualification working experience in the design of building services installations;

• a minimum of three years’ experience at a senior level, overseeing and project managing building services projects.
