Job Title Communications And Engagement Officer

Communications and Engagement Officer Salary: 35k

Duration: Permanent

Role purpose:

Support the Head of Human Resources and the Senior Management Team in delivering change that drives continuous communications improvement within the business. Will look at candidates from a communications and/or HR employee relations background

Key Accountabilities:

  • Clear understanding of our business strategy and ensure people know what behaviours will drive the greatest success in their specific role and the contract in general.
  • Support people through continuous change and provide platforms for effective dialogue with line managers and senior leaders.
  • Ensure delivery of engaging, relevant and timely internal communications across the Contract.
  • Ensure delivery of effective communication that supports the requirements of KPIs.
Key Duties:

  • Support the Human Resources Dept in delivering an Employee Engagement Strategy using various mediums.
  • Plan and organise a diary of events to delivery on ongoing opportunities currently in place to recognise team and individual efforts and celebrate success.
  • Maximise the suite of communication channels, with a particular focus on digital channels and, conversely, face to face.
  • Develop and deliver innovative, effective employee events, conferences and campaigns
  • Work closely with Corporate Communications to ensure alignment of vision, messages and activities.
  • Design the process to relaunch newsletter
  • Produce clear, compelling, consistent and engaging content for a range of ad hoc contract-based internal and external materials.
  • Maintain the C&E "radar" - a heatmap that captures all comms-related activity throughout the business.
  • Provide PA support to senior management team where required.
  • Ensure the Staff Handbook is up to date in relation to labour legislation and work practices.

Skills Required Include:

  • University degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Advertising or similar
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Powerpoint, Office & Excel at intermediate level
  • 3 – 5 years post degree experience in business
  • Ability to manipulate, produce accurate and timely reports
  • Good knowledge of face to face, print and digital channels
  • Experience in a Communications role in other organisations
  • Effective working relationships with emplolyees at all levels of the organisation
  • Full clean driving licence would be useful.
