Job Title Purchased Material Inspector

Purchased Material Inspector - North Dublin.
This position is being offered as an 11 months' fixed-term contract.

Position Purpose:

To provide day to day inspection expertise in the areas of Component and Mechatronic Inspection supporting manufacturing.

To complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRS) and lot inspection activities

To support suppliers in helping the company deliver quality product to internal customers, through product & process investigations & evaluations.

To support technology transfer initiatives and new product introduction projects.

Assess supplier capability to meet quality requirements to ensure supplier processes are an effective fit with company requirements.

Check specification and tolerances when requested from either production or suppliers and complete the associated dispositions.

Participate in design changes of component and assemblies to enhance product and reduce operator error.

Key Competencies and experience sought:

Mechanical, Mechatronic and Electromechanical measurement systems

Inspection Methodologies such as PCBA Visual Inspection (IPC-A-610), Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical / Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, Moulded and Machined plastics inspection and measurement. Inspection and Measurement of Lens and focal length.

General Inspection to Drawing: Commercial off the shelf components, inspect against vendors item or model number

Geometrical Tolerancing (e.g. true position, perpendicularity, concentricity, angularity, roundness etc.)

Excellent communication skills both oral and written

Ideally 3 to 5 years relevant experience.

Minimum of a third level qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree) in an appropriate discipline (Quality Management, Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.)

This position requires excellent analytical skills, judgement and a good understanding of statistical techniques.

Experience in being part of a team with strong communications skills both written and verbal. Ability to work in technically complex multi-discipline areas.
