We want to talk to members of the public about what they think families with children need to have for a socially acceptable minimum standard of living in Ireland. The VPSJ, an Irish NGO, uses focus group discussions to identify detailed baskets of goods and services that people agree are needed for a ‘Minimum Essential Standard of Living’. If you are interested in sharing your perspective, we would currently like to speak to parents from the following types of households: • Two Parent households, with children of primary school age (7+) and second level age (under 18. • One Parent households, with children up to the age of 7 (babies, pre-school age or primary school age. Participants will be asked to take part in two focus group sessions (approx. 3 hours per session). The focus groups are to be held in the evening, in a north Dublin inner city location. Participants will receive a €50 One4All voucher, in recognition of their time and vital contribution to the research. In your response please include the following information: • The number and ages of the children in your household. • Your current employment status (and that of your partner, if from a Two Parent household. • Please provide a contact telephone number. Participants must have lived in Ireland for at least the last three years and fluency in conversational English is required.
