Senior Physiotherapist Mental Health Service, Dublin. Senior Physiotherapist required for permanent position with specialist adult mental health service, South Dublin. As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will work with residents with Huntington’s disease, dementia, neuropsychiatric presentations, enduring mental health conditions and emerging physical disabilities. Working as part of a well-structured multi-disciplinary team, this will be a standalone position and will be responsible for leading and developing the physiotherapy service across an adult mental health service as well as a nursing home and independent living service. Duties of the post include: Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for clients with severe and enduring mental illness and challenging behaviour. Collaboration with resident, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning. Maintain comprehensive clinical records of patients/residents assessment, interventions carried out, communications relating to patients/residents. Manage, participate and play a key role in the practice education of student physiotherapists and promote and engage in the teaching/training/support of others as appropriate. Education of staff around specific issues such as falls prevention. Facilitate falls group with Occupational Therapy department. Coordination and management of exercise class, health promotion and goal setting. Interested candidates required to have: A recognised qualification in Physiotherapy with registration with CORU / ISCP. A minimum of years post graduate experience with some experience working in a mental health facility. Experience working with Huntingtons disease is desirable. Ability to work unsupervised in an autonomous capacity. Strong interpersonal and organisation skills and the ability collaboration with various other disciplines.
