Our client provides physical security solutions to some of the best known organisations across the globe. They actively deliver projects from Dublin across 34 Cities in 26 Countries over 5 Time Zones. At the same time, they deploy practical solutions, delivering real value to retailers and commercial premises owners in every county in Ireland. Due to continued expansion, our client requires an IT Support Specialist to join their Engineering Team based in Dublin. They seek an individual whom is comfortable with both corporate and commercial clients, with the ability to work as part of a team or on your own merit and are just as comfortable working from an office as a construction site. This will be a mixed role, offering end user support both via phone and in person, offering phone support to engineering colleagues whom may require the skillset of the IT Support Specialist, assisting the sales team with specifications for IT Hardware and input into the day to day company IT Infrastructure. Under minimal supervision, responsibilities may include installation, configuration, and support a local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Requirements to maintain network hardware and software. Effectively manage and monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability on assigned projects. Responsibilities may also include providing customers with custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits, reports and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation regarding Integrated Security Systems (ISS). Typically handling larger and more complex projects. Some travel necessary as client locations are throughout the EMEA region. Key Responsibilities: Minimum of four years of previous computer network installation and maintenance experience: Job Responsibilities: 1. Installation, configuration and support to a wide variety of network based security systems. 2. Working directly with client IT departments to ensure all scope and interface is planned and implemented. Providing IT/networking consulting support for clients as necessary. Recommends internal process changes with client departments to improve customer satisfaction. 3. Monitoring and reviewing system log reports and network documentation. 4. Assisting Project Managers with IT/networking technical issues on projects. Assists Service Specialists with IT/networking service calls. 5. Assists the sales team with developing proposals and designs for sales proposals. Provides a wide variety of technical advice as required for system planning. 6. May assist with internal office network, IT and laptop support. 7. May be responsible for building, maintaining and providing security on routers and firewalls. 8. Part of the team acting as, customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring the company are the customers first choice for service. 9. Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance. 10. Reviews and identifies new products & tools to improve productivity and efficiencies. Implements these ideas with the rest of the project team. 11. Executes many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and on-going technical support etc. 12. May work with account managers or customers to provide Strategic Account support. May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation. 13. Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines. 14. Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of specific projects; makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope, and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction. 15. May carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine, perform and advise on overall project requirements; may manage all routine aspects of project including estimating, design, tracking, start up and planning phases. 16. May prepare and/or review formal O&M Manuals, containing schematics and technical literature as necessary to support assigned tasks/jobs. 17. May provide on-site assistance with start-up, check out and turnover processes. 18. May provide diagnostic and troubleshooting support for possible problems including debugging software, installation problems etc. to existing customers, sales team and service department as necessary. 19. May perform Systems upgrades on large, Enterprise Class systems including acting as the team lead when additional manpower is necessary. 20. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. Job Skills Requirements: Excellent programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions. Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer, without being prompted. Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision. Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Education Requirements: Formal training in network design installation and maintenance. Degree in IT Systems strongly preferred. Certifications & Licenses: Must possess three or more of the following certifications. Other network and/or industry certifications or experience may be substituted where appropriate. Must have valid clean driving license. Other: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP. Work Environment: The position is a field and/or office position. The colleague regularly performs local work-related travel. Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required.
