Procurement Consultant - QS/Construction. You will have experience in construction and contract negotiation with building contractors before, during and after construction. Role will involve : * Using your engineering/technical skills along with purchasing in the art of international strategic sourcing to drive value. Taking a lead role in supporting cost savings & revenue generation business goals via sourcing process for large spend category areas. * Installation & Engineering b/ground in: o Transport elements: ROADM, WDM, routers, multiplexing & Networks. o Knowledge / exp. of primary & secondary DC Power systems: PDBs, BDFBs, cabling requirements, batteries, rectifiers, etc. o Fibre optics: Cabling & applications. o knowledge of telecommunications standards including Eng. specifications, drawings & layouts. o Know installation procedures, practices & stds. * Drive all aspects of complex strategic sourcing process, including taking lead on contract negotiations of business, pricing terms & conditions, research & benchmarking data on pricing etc. o Strong analytical skills required - process large amounts of & varying types of data to achieve favourable conclusions. * Work with stakeholders to resolve supplier related business issues. o Invoicing / payment issues. o Contract language interpretation / clarification & managing disputes over contract pricing. * Maximize purchasing power to achieve a lower cost & lowering risk. o Take a lead role & work with multiple teams to guide selections of low-cost & technically qualified Suppliers to provide needed services. * Be aware of industry trends for assigned category area & a Trusted Advisor to Business Partners. * Present new products, technologies & services from existing/ new suppliers to clients. Ideally you will have: * Bachelor's Degree in QS; Construction; Contract Mgt; Business Admin, Supply Chain, Eng. Your (CIPS), (IACCM) or (IIPMM. * Exp. in Strategic Sourcing, ideally in the construction areas ideally including Network Infrastructure, Software Licensing, Call Centre Services, Cloud, Contracted Labour, etc. * Ability to solve complex problems to ensure business & financial issues result in good decisions. * Project Mgt. in complex multi-project & multi-geography environment. * Exp. as a telecoms installer or engineer. * PMP or Prince 2 exp., * Lean Six Sigma exp., * Strong interpersonal & client service skills. * Proficiency with M/soft (inc P/Point, Excel & Word) - MS Access a plus.
