DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The role of a Desktop Insurance Loss Adjuster is to assist the Operations Director in managing aspects of Insurance Claims, whilst at the same time concentrating on the Insurance, Loss Adjusting and Client Care issues relating to Desk Expert Ltd. This role has a particular emphasis in dealing with claims either at First Notification of Loss (FNOL) or allocated on Claimwise and then working on the claim at the desk in order to advance the claims settlement process. The role entails ensuring that claims are settled in accordance with our Principals instruction but also handling the claim in the most effective and efficient method possible to further advance the reputation of the Claims Handling Group. This individual will have autonomy within a given structure to ensure a portfolio of claims is handled to an acceptable level of performance as judged by the Directors and the audit process. The role holder is totally accountable for his/her actions to the Desk Expert Operations Director. The successful candidate will meet or be actively working towards MCC requirements and have experience in a similar role. Third Level degree in Construction based course, Insurance, Building Surveying or cognate field is an advantage. PERSON SPECIFICATION. Knowledge/Experience.  Experience of dealing with difficult customer issues.  Experience of organising and prioritising a demanding and heavy workload.  Knowledge of property construction is an advantage.  Knowledge of Insurance marketplace is an advantage Education/Qualifications.  Third Level degree in Construction based course, Insurance, Building Surveying or cognate field is an advantage.  Must meet or be actively working towards MCC requirements Skills.  Ability to work within deadlines.
