JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer, Building Services. REF. NO: J4662. LOCATION: Dublin. ROLE: Permanent. We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to participate as a key member of our Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin. Key Requirements: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or. Certificate or Diploma qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering with 2 years post graduate experience. Have a good knowledge of practical Building Services Engineering Design across a wide range of market sectors. Be motivated and capable of directing more Junior staff. Have a good knowledge of AutoCAD. Have a good knowledge of Building Services Design Software, including IES or Design builder and Hevacomp/Cymap. Take responsibility for delivering good quality Engineering designs. Fulfil the duties expected of an Intermediate Engineer, as listed below. Duties and Responsibilities: Support the H&S system relevant to their work area. To participate in work activities which support the Quality Management System. Complete detailed design calculations of mechanical building services systems under the direction of the Senior Engineer. Produce detailed P&ID and layout drawings in accordance with RPS CAD standards. Check project documentation, drawings and calculations, as required. Co-ordinate project engineering design activities with little supervision. Direct more junior staff in the completion of detailed design calculations. Ensure all design calculations are in accordance with the requirements of the RPS QA system. Mark up P&ID’s and layout drawings for review. Carry out site surveys and attend site meetings. Co-ordinate services drawings. Assist in the management of drawings associated with the project including the compilation of detailed specifications and tender documentation. The production of detailed services budgets. Assist if required in compiling Submissions, Proposals and Quotations for new business. Participate fully within the team. Ensure understanding of project management objectives. Follow defined goals. Demonstrate learning ability. Follow training plans. Maintain CPD. Comply with RPS Systems. Meet appraisal goals. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Mechanical Building Services Engineering across a range of market sectors. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Energy-Efficient Design and incorporation of renewable energy solutions within projects. Be capable of working within a wider engineering team and be able to take direction from more senior staff and direct more junior staff. Office based design ability, from proposal through to project completion. Reasonably good site experience, including construction support, surveys, meetings and generating snag lists. Good computer skills in using standard office software, such as Microsoft word and excel. Detailed understanding of specific building services design tools, such as AutoCAD, HEVACOMP and IES. Ability to work within a BIM environment would be an advantage but is not essential. Capability to comply with Engineering Quality Systems. Key performance indicators: Health and Safety compliance as measured by Internal Audit. Quality compliance as measured by Quality Audit. Compliance with company policies and procedures.
