This BD facility is. the only one globally which manufactures one of our new PosiFlush™ products. With all these exciting developments taking place we are recruiting for a Moulding Technician to provide hands on technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the moulding department.A rapid response to line downtime situations is critical and focus will be on equipment yield & efficiency. The Moulding Technician is responsible for continuously monitor the performance of a wide range of moulding equipment and automation to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained, while operating within the constraints of the validated processing window at all times. The Moulding Technician will also be involved in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure smooth operation of the plant. This role will assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging etc. This person will liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops. They will assist with the training of other, Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required. This person will be expected to fully participate in companywide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools as applicable. This person will be computer literate and fully use all current and new IT/processing systems. Your responsibilities will include: Complete mould repairs as required to ensure optimum mould performance Start up and shut down of moulding presses and ancillary equipment, applying industry best practices at all times; Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults; Support continuous improvement activities to help optimise the performance of the moulding department; Install and set-up a range of multi cavity moulds and automation for the production of medical device components. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years industrial experience as a Toolmaker/Molder preferably in the medical/pharmaceutical industry. Previous experience of injection moulding / maintenance / Toolmaking is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. This role will include shift work. You must be willing to work on a 4-shift basis, the company will operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
