The Position. Mazars is looking for an excellent auditor to join our growing IT audit and compliance team. The area of IT audit and compliance is a new and rapidly developing one for IT professionals and offers an exciting and alternative route for the technical or IT professional. Mazars is unique amongst firms in that our IT audit team are trained in a highly technical environment. We maintain an internal IT audit testing facility within the Mazars Dublin office and all staff are required to spend 15% of their time using this facility and ensuring that their technical knowledge and practical IT audit skills remain current and reflect best practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background together with a high degree of commercial awareness. The role is principally internal IT audit and compliance focused and we are seeking a suitably qualified individual with the following profile: • IT, systems, engineering or similar primary degree. • Qualified IT auditor with a registered audit qualification – CISA, CISM or equivalent. • Experience in the delivery of internal and external IT audit assignments. • Strong information technology skills and experience – from a technical background. • Understanding of risk management, governance and internal audit. • Excellent client management skills. Responsibilities. • Examining, documenting and assessing IT and system controls for clients. • Planning and testing of IT controls. • Advising on and assisting with the remediation of control deficiencies. • Providing advice to clients on IT controls and information security. • Drafting management reports detailing issues found and recommendations to resolve them. • Liaising with financial and internal audit staff and client management to ensure that all aspects of the audit and compliance process are satisfactorily completed. Principal Requirements. • 3+ years' IT auditing experience. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail. • Good technical IT knowledge, including if possible a knowledge of financial applications. • Ability to operate in a challenging and dynamic environment. • Self-motivated with a strong technical background. • Excellent knowledge of technology (applications, infrastructure, best practice, controls. The following would also be an advantage: • Knowledge and experience in audit interrogation tools (ACL, IDEA, TOAD etc.) • Knowledge of best practice IT audit principles and practices. • Knowledge of SAP or Oracle Financials. • ISAE3042/ SSAE16/ Soc 1 and 2 audit experience. • Strong interest in the continued development of the IT audit function. • Qualification in information systems auditing (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CFIP. • Previous experience in information systems auditing, internal controls or compliance. • Knowledge of COBIT, ISACA, ITIL ISO 17799 standards.
