It is also a world leader in the field of additive manufacturing (also referred to as metal 3D printing), where it is the only UK business that designs and makes industrial machines which ‘print' parts from metal powder. Our client currently has more than 70 offices in 35 countries, with around 4,300 employees worldwide. The Dublin plant has 200 employees. They are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Production Manager to join their very successful Production team in Swords, Co. Dublin. Reporting to the Production Director. They require a goal orientated, highly determined, self-disciplined person with very strong analytical, production planning, computer and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: The creation, implementation, monitoring and achievement of the Master Build Schedule. There will be a strong focus on delivery performance, prescribed stock levels, and quality and productivity measures. Oversee daily productivity, ensuring on time delivery, cost effective delivery of the production schedule. Monitor, track and improve daily, weekly and quarterly production KPIs. Manage a team of Cell Leaders/Supervisors ensuring that clear and concise directions are imparted and maintained. Ensure quality metrics are achieved and quality standards are clear, understood and maintained. Actively manage projects to drive culture of innovation and continuous improvement through the department, to deliver year on year efficiency improvements. Lead the function and direct reports to ensure we have a highly effective workforce who are aligned to the company goals. Manage development and training of the team to ensure employees are highly skilled and achieving their potential. Communicate effectively across the department and across functions. Ensure employees are informed, engage and are clear on the company’s strategy, goals and objectives. Recruitment of production Operators/Cell Leaders. Set the operational plan for department and manage effectively delivery of this. Manage and control to ensure company goals are achieved. Interface with Design, Quality, Assembly & Testing and Sales functions to ensure production lead times and quality standards are met. implementation of best practice in Health & Safety compliance. Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines. Skills required: Proven experience in operating a successful Production Department where you have been responsible for the production planning, quality, personnel, costs and all outputs from a modern cellular manufacturing facility. The candidate must have 3-5 years hands on experience in a complex ERP/MRP environment from creating plans to managing capacities and outputs. Production management and performance evaluation. Have appropriate PC skills consistent with such a position such as Microsoft Access, Excel etc., Must be innovative/creative, flexible, be able to multi-task and have a “hands on” approach. HR practices, have good judgment and decision-making skills. Can deal with employees on a one to one basis. Can operate within a multidisciplinary team of Managers who are responsible for Facilities, Purchasing, Materials, Finance, Engineering and Design related issues both on site and overseas. Excellent organisational and leadership skills with high attention to detail. Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach. Although not necessary a 3rd level relevant qualification may be advantageous. This role also includes great personal benefits and professional growth opportunities.
