Description

Engineering Technician (straight days Monday to Friday) - South Dublin. In this role you will beresponsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of all plant and production equipment, as well as the fabrication of new and replacement equipment. The Engineering Technician will also be involved in trouble shooting and continuous improvement initiatives. This job description covers both electrical and mechanical aspects of the Engineering Technician’s job and will require Engineering Technicians to undertake any task which is within their competence. Core Responsibilities: • To install, modify and maintain the full range of production equipment; this includes: o Fine tuning production equipment to increase output. o Reducing downtime and reducing waste. o Maintaining production lines at optimal performance. • To continuously improve the production operations; this includes: o Identifying areas for improvement within the manufacturing process. o Working with external engineering firms to design equipment. o Working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams in monitoring and improving equipment performance using proven troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques. • To assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging etc. • To assist with the creation and updating of documentation and training of other Engineering Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required. • To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g. breakdowns, maintenance, etc.). The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the Mechanical and Electronic Systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment and hold a Third Level Qualification in one of those disciplines, or the National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience. Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is essential for this role. You must have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields.
