JOB TITLE: Resident Engineer. REF NO: J4579. REPORT TO: Technical Director. LOCATION: Donabate. JOB TYPE: Fixed Term Contract. We are currently recruiting for the role of Resident Engineer to join our Roads team. supervising a Roads and Bridges contract in the Donabate area. There are currently two separate appointments to be made. It is expected that the appointments will commence in May 2018 with a likely duration of 15 months. The role of the Resident Engineer will be to supervise the construction of the Roads and Bridges contract. The role is a specialist position with particular relevant experience sought in the areas of both Road construction and bridge construction supervision. The roles will also include for the administration of the contract in accordance with the particular requirements of the contract. The Resident Engineer shall: Hold an honours degree (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering or equivalent professional qualification in engineering. Have at least 7 years’ satisfactory experience of the supervision of Roads and/or Bridges. Possess a high standard of technical training and experience. Have excellent IT skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in AutoCAD. Have familiarity and experience of the Public Works Contract Model; including the roles and duties of the respective parties, contractual obligations and timeframes. Have familiarity and experience of Project Management, Risk Management & Cost Management Procedures. Have detailed experience of fulfilling duties required by the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations, 2013, including ensuring, on behalf of the Employer, that the duties of the PSCS, PSDP, Designer and Contractor are implemented across the project. Have knowledge and experience of civil engineering materials quality control.
