We are the helpful energy company. We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Industry Solutions Designer within our Industry Solutions team. The team is responsible for the gas and electricity industry XML market messaging interactions. Reporting to the Head of Industry solutions, you will support the ongoing operation and development of our Gas and Electricity retail market messaging systems, processes, and associated market design. This key role focuses on how our Oracle Utilities CC&B system interacts with the wider market, and supports processes such as customer switching, requesting meter works on site, change of tenancy or receiving customer readings for billing. The role would be best suited to someone who enjoys the variety of operational support and development work. There is a functional and technical aspect to the role. One area will be resolving operational support tickets, while another is preparing the design and development for a new Industry Change. You will join the Industry Solutions Team (IT Market Messaging Team) which has a key role in supporting: Gas and Electricity industry interfaces with all Networks companies. The internal Gas & Electricity business processes, triggered by each market interactions. You will be supporting the Bord Gáis Energy Market Messaging system, which is incorporated in to Oracle CC&B, and the associated market design. Working as part of the Market Messaging team to resolve issues arising from daily message reconciliation with Networks, or our Call Centre or other business unit initiated queries. Dealing with assigned tickets / SharePoint's raised concerning the workflows triggered on the customer care and billing system. Take responsibility for assigned areas regarding any queries or Industry changes. Understanding related internal Gas and Electricity business processes as they relate to Market Message Support. Carry out analysis of issues assigned, of which some may require examining logs, understanding database schemas / updates or writing SQL code to find examples, in conjunction with understanding the intended process. Documenting and performing configuration changes on the Oracle CC&B system. Working with the Networks operators on the support and maintenance of the shared central market systems. Namely the Electricity Market Message Application (TIBCO) and GasMaP (Market Flow. To team up with subject matter experts to support testing and release planning for the Market Messaging Systems and CC&B. Working as part of a team to co-ordinate the development of Bord Gáis Energy Industry facing business processes. Scoping out change requests assigned. Writing the design document, carrying out the development work, up to unit testing your change. Represent Bord Gais Energy at IT Industry meetings. You will be liaising with various business teams right across Bord Gais Energy who interact with Industry. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time. About You. This role combines a number of different areas, namely: development work, business analysis and requirements work, second line support work, with both a technical and functional aspect. You must be willing and able to move between the different aspects on a daily basis. You will have an understanding of the industry market processes shared by all suppliers and network companies, with the technology that underpins this. You will have a good understanding of Gas and Electricity market rules as they relate to market message support. You will have a good level of Java, SQL, PL/SQL would be needed, with the willingness to learn Oracle's own scripting language for Dev/Ops support. SAP ABAP would also be considered. Previous experience of working with utilities system like Oracle CC&B or SAP ISU or Meter Data Management would be an advantage.
