Description

A large Client of mine are looking to recruit a highly motivated project management orientated quantity surveyor who will deliver project management and cost consultancy services within a range of industries including; residential, office and retail fit-out, healthcare and industrial. DUTIES. Develop and maintain relationships with client representatives including regular liaison / updates, weekly or monthly reporting on key project parameters and becoming single point of contact for client. Provide contributions to client pitches, business development, strategy and presentations. Seek and integrate inputs from other professionals/consultancy divisions within to best service the client and assist in delivery of the project. Utilising the contacts of thenetwork to identify potential new instructions and identifying opportunities for cross selling across the business. Manage a range of projects for several clients, delivering all projects to schedule, within budget and meeting all reporting requirements. Attend regular site meetings as a company representative and communicate effectively, to keep Head of Dept up-to-date on project development status whilst also tracking and resolving issues. Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project. Ensure each stage of the process is progressing to the agreed time frame, as well as budget and to the right quality standards. Completion of tender process, including document preparation, negotiations and analysis relating to a range of construction projects. Completion of contract administration role. Organising and chairing pre-contract and post-contract project team meetings. Post-contract tasks including, but not limited to; Valuation of works, assessment of contract variations, cash flow projections, final account preparations. Liaising with the Design Team to ensure requirements and specifications are met on time and within budget. Candidate Criteria. Degree in Quantity Surveying or currently studying towards such while in employment. Displays an understanding of specifications, bills of quantities/schedules of works and drawings. Capable of extracting quantities from drawings and preparation of required tender documentation. Computer literate in MS Office, NBS, AutoCAD and Buildsoft. Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills. Self-starter with an ability to organise the workday around assigned activities and priorities with minimum supervision. Must be highly flexible with high level commitment to success. Ability to work successfully as part of a team demonstrating effective interpersonal skills. Ability to deliver to deadlines. Experience dealing competently with Clients, Design Teams & Contractors. Proactive attitude to challenging projects. Commitment to an expanding practice. Methodical, diligent and pragmatic approach to all aspects of role. Able to lead single and multiple projects from consultation to completion.
