Project Manager - R&D Renewables. Background. This new company focus on the renewable energy market and their aim is to develop further the capture of various renewable energy sources thereby enabling the de-carbonisation of our energy system. The role will form key part of the growing dynamic team within the company who are set to lead the global transition to renewable energy. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the renewable energy sector and there is enormous potential for your career to soar. Description. The primary function of this role is to work with the engineering team, project partners; funding bodies: selected R&D teams in Universities; equipment design companies etc to ensure that projects are well scoped, costed, executed and reported upon. Key responsibilities. Development of 'best in class' Bid Applications for Research and Innovation Funding. Managing and reporting on a number of Research and Development projects (on time, quality, budget …) being run across the country. Analysis, development and presentation of technical proposals to funding bodies, the board of directors; Universities. Collaboration with other organisations in research funded projects both locally and abroad. Experience and Skills required. A Degree in Engineering with a Project management qualification. Strong, demonstrable project management experience within an engineering or renewables industry. Experience in completing the bid documents to win funding for technical projects and then managing these through to delivery. Very comfortable managing budgets used for specific technology development and ensuring these are used correctly by all involved. Experience working with R&D teams in Research Institutions and/or the Energy Sector. Good at driving projects that required R&D professionals and keeping everyone focused on the end goal, the time lines and quality required. Strong interpersonal, communications and relationship management skills. Good written skills - and be a finisher! Be flexible in terms of working arrangements.
