Our client, a global hardware leader, is currently building a new software development team to join their R&D team in Dublin. As part of this team, we are seeking a Principal ++ Engineer, with strong software architecture understanding, capable of conducting high level software engineering work, without requiring supervision, capable of providing guidance to the whole team on unusual features or on complex tasks. You will be reporting directly to the Software Team Lead, but will be expected to be capable of providing technical mentorship and direction to the rest of the team, and helping guide the Team Lead within your area of expertisened. Requirements: A comprehensive understanding of software development techniques and practices. Experience developing effective Software Architectures. At least 7 years solid software engineering experience using C and ++ Solid experience with Python. Ability to work with and respond quickly to evolving requirements. Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. A good understanding of revision control concepts and practices, ideally with Git. Some experience with embedded systems. Desirable/Beneficial. Experience with Bash scripting. Experience with Subversion software. Experience with Linux. Experience using C# Experience using SQL.
