The Courts Service is a statutory independent State agency, established by the Courts Service Act 1998 to support the third branch of Government, the Courts and the Judiciary. The Courts Service has responsibility for the management and administration of the Courts.  The Courts Service is governed by a Board which is responsible for determining policy in relation to the Service. In line with the recent Organisational Capability Review, the Strategy and Reform Directorate is currently being restructured.  As a member of the Courts Service Senior Management Team, the Head of the Directorate will be responsible for the further development of the Reform Agenda in the Courts Service and will lead on delivering improved services to court users through reform of procedures and processes and by moving to a digital model of service delivery. The ideal candidate will have: • Proven strategic leadership with a vision for reform of the Courts Service and its role in the justice system; • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with partners and key stakeholders and have a record of success in communicating, influencing and engaging at the highest levels; • Exceptional transformation and change management leadership experience; • A clear understanding, or the capacity to quickly develop a clear understanding, of the work of the Courts Service, the legal system and the role of the judiciary as one of the constitutional branches of government.
