The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission is the statutory corporate body responsible for the running of the Houses of the Oireachtas and the administration and management of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service. The Oireachtas Library & Research Service provides impartial information and research services to support the work of both Houses, individual Members and Committees in respect of their parliamentary duties.  There is currently a vacancy for the position of Senior Parliamentary Librarian in the Library & Research Service. Reporting to the Library & Archive Manager, the Senior Parliamentary Librarian will be responsible for managing the day-to-day information and collection management services of the Oireachtas Library to support Members, Committees, and Houses of the Oireachtas Service staff. The successful candidate will have a qualification of at least level 8, minimum 2nd class honours, on the National Framework of Qualifications and a post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Studies (level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
