Recruitment of Director of Research and Policy Insight.   The organisation.   The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) was established as Ireland's national energy authority under the Sustainable Energy Act 2002. SEAI's mission is to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices. Reporting to the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, SEAI is responsible for an annual budget of circa €350 million.   The role.   SEAI seeks a suitably qualified individual in the role of Director of Research and Policy Insight. This role will have a critical role to play in ensuring the operational success of SEAI. The appointee will be the first person to hold the post and will have significant opportunity to make their mark in developing the Directorate and contribute to the success of the organisation.   In addition, this role will have responsibility for the leadership and management of the Research and Policy Insight Directorate to achieve its intended outcomes and deliver a range of key services including oversight of modelling and statutory reporting of Ireland’s energy statistics and projections, energy policy development and testing, RD&D and innovation, interaction with Ireland’s enterprise agencies, and representation of Ireland at a range of energy policy and research fora (UN, IEA, EU and others).     The person.   The person appointed will have a proven track record as a leader and senior manager in a large or complex organisation and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the skills and experience required of those working at board level within a large organisation.   The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic leadership, clear evidence of strong corporate governance skills, sound judgement on complex inter-linked issues, excellent communication skills and a track record in leading and delivering growth and change, managing relationships, providing developmental leadership and managing for results.    Application and further information.   For further information, please visit   Applications must be submitted online and include: • A completed Application Form outlining why you wish to be considered for the post and where you believe your skills and experience meet the requirements of the position    Deadline for applications: Monday, 22nd March 2021 at 5pm.     Please note that this advertisement is being hosted by the Public Appointments Service on The Public Appointments Service has no involvement in, or responsibility for, the recruitment and selection process or the terms and conditions which relate to this post.
