The organisation. The National Cancer Registry Ireland (NCRI) was established by the Minister for Health in 1991 and is primarily funded by the Department of Health. It was set up to record information on all cancer cases that occur in Ireland. The main functions of the NCRI are to collect information on all new cancer cases in Ireland; to monitor trends in the incidence and prevalence of cancer, and in outcomes for patients; and to promote the use of the information collected in the development of evidence-based cancer policy, the planning and management of services, and in research. The NCRI is seeking suitable applicants for the role of Director of the NCRI/Professor of Cancer Epidemiology at University College Cork. The role. The Director will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership and management of the NCRI. She/he will manage the statutory functions of the NCRI and direct and oversee the operations of the organisation across all of its functional areas, including governance, financial management and human resources. The Director will facilitate the implementation of relevant recommendations of the National Cancer Strategy primarily through the provision of information and analysis to support policy development and service enhancement. The post will incorporate a role as Professor of Cancer Epidemiology in the School of Public Health at UCC. Application and further information.
