A leading telecommunications organisation, who are automating, optimizing and revolutionizing the way people, vehicles and things move through the world, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their team on a Contract basis (with long-term potential). Role Overview: The data warehouse stack is built on Oracle for data storage, Informatica for ETL and OBIEE/Tableau for data visualisation. The ideal candidate will have practical hands-on experience with each of these tools. You will be involved in maintaining and expanding the data warehouse and supporting the delivery of key technical projects. You will be responsible for designing, building and deploying new data extraction, transformation, loading and deployment. You will also be involved in enhancing and migrating the existing process running in production. Role Requirements: Extensive experience working with Oracle DBMS and Informatica ETL tools. PL/SQL programming experience essential. Intermediate Python knowledge. Strong proven experience with Tableau or OBIEE BI tools. Familiarity with dimensional modelling concepts. Experience using DAC in conjunction with Informatica. Excellent communicator with the ability to gather requirements and feedback. Documentation skills with ability to create Entity Relationship Diagrams and Source to Target mappings. Knowledge of Linux Shell Scripting. Exposure to automated CI/CD tools and patterns. Desired Skills: Experience working with Agile methodologies. AWS familiarity, especially with batch data ingestion. Knowledge of Redshift and AWS storage services.
