Description

The RFQ buyer is responsible for assisting the Deputy Chief Procurement Officer in running the Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes within Iarnród Éireann. Application of the relevant CIE Group Procurement policies and Procedures. Retain records of purchases and quotations for auditing purposes. Ensuring the relevant documentation is retained in accordance with procedures laid down. Adhere to the requirements of the CIE Code of Business Ethics for Employees. Implementation of the “RFQ” purchasing system which promotes best industry practice by: Operating the Request for Quotation process from receipt of request to delivery of quotations to the internal client. The timely conversion of SAP requisitions to appropriate SAP solutions. Assist in the preparation and issuing of formal and framework tenders as required. Report any identified procurement non-compliance to the Chief Procurement Officer. Maintain Procurement catalogues. Deal with internal customer queries with regard to the “RFQ“ process. Train internal customers in the Procure to pay cycle. Provide a help desk for vendors on quotation and order queries. Provide Metrics which highlight “RFQ” purchasing activity and actions against these activities which will improve efficiency levels across all locations. Attend meetings with customers and suppliers as required. Attend weekly internal RFQ progress review meetings. Manage any invoice verification with regard to price. Other duties assigned from time to time by the CPO or Deputy CPO Customer Service. REQUIRED QUALITIES: Ability to deliver customer requirements continuously. Good knowledge of SAP MM or similar ERP system and it’s reporting capabilities. An ability to deal with customers and vendors in professional manner. The ability to grow and maintain effective working relationships through excellent oral and written communication. Excellent analytical & numerical ability. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages and the ability to produce, maintain and archive data accurately.
