Quantity Surveyor Grade II – Office of Public Works The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a property service organisation, which, on behalf of the State procures and delivers construction, engineering, refurbishment and maintenance projects on behalf of the State. Schemes include new-build offices and fit-outs, restoration of iconic historical buildings, and acquisition / development of support buildings, Garda & Coastguard stations, to suit the dynamic needs of the State.  Liaising with both internal and consultancy teams, the QS section has a particular focus on robust project definition, cost planning, CWMF-compliant procurement and development and implementation of effective project strategies in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary colleagues, in compliance with the Capital Works Management Framework, Office of Government Procurement, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, and OPW’s internal governance protocols. The appointee will report to a Grade I QS, and will provide full, partial quantity surveying, and advisory services on a diverse range of construction projects as part of a team. The successful candidate(s) will be technically informed, diligent, task-focused quantity surveyor(s), and will assist the team deliver full-services quantity surveying advice on a diverse range of office developments and fit-outs, garda & coastguard stations and restoration projects on historic properties. The successful candidate will:  Hold a qualification of at least Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Economics or an equivalent qualification. Be a person named on a register maintained pursuant to Part 4 (Registration of Quantity Surveyors) of the Building Control Act 2007. Have substantial relevant post-qualification practical experience providing full quantity surveying services (including Bills of Quantity. Have a track record of managing and delivering a high-quality surveying service in accordance with best practice. Closing date: 3pm, Thursday, 23rd September 2021.
