An exciting opportunity for a permanent Materials Buyer to join the Procurement function for an FMCG organiastion in West Dublin. You will : - Be reporting to the Procurement Mgr & optimising material spend ie glass, packaging, labels etc. Work with supply chain the forecasting team; engaging with key suppliers to ensure high quality product & lead supplier performance for the category. Identify savings opportunities & understand specifications for Dry Goods categories, in Glass category ideally. Participate in the specification process, using Design to cost & redesign cost approaches. Complete spend & cost data analysis to drive potential cost reduction. Analyse supplier panel, phase-in & phase-out of product & substitute products. Identify any methods of innovating current processes through technological advances. Manage demand & forecasting with suppliers. Issue weekly & monthly forecast reports. Analyse weekly forecast with suppliers with detailed actions on any potential shortages. Monitor safety stock adherence & annual PO's. Provide solutions for potential stock-out & action issues in a prompt manner. Communication with key stakeholders. Develop request for information / request for proposal. Send out (RFIs) to suppliers with potential to support the business. Create (RFPs) to short-listed suppliers interested & with capability of meeting requirements. Negotiate & define contracts with suppliers. Communicate with suppliers to ensure all necessary terms inc in the contract draft (price, quality, payment & delivery, etc.) Define & review the clauses in contracts & draft contracts for suppliers not managed by Legal; Supervise drafting of contracts with legal & help ensure suppliers are compliant with terms. Monitor & manage Supplier performance. Define objectives & KPIs/SLAs to ensure a clear path to success with supplier, aligned with procurement excellence, Supplier (SPM) framework. Plan & implement corrective actions & escalate matters preventing progress. Performs contract mgt. activities to ensure the services & value are delivered as agreed in the contract. Manage monthly reviews with key suppliers & all relevant stakeholders. Assess third party risks (at RPF & ongoing) & execute risk remediation actions with Procurement. Skills & Experience : - Ideally 5 years of exp. in procurement in a Buyer role. Strong knowledge of the category or similar buying activity for a different category. Exp in procurement of dry goods. Negotiation skills & commercial acumen. Strong analytical skills & attention to detail. Can work on own initiative & part of a team. Good working knowledge of SAP an advantage. Self-sufficient & innovative - a good communicator. Good teamwork & can have great interpersonal relationships. Rewards.
