THE ROTUNDA HOSPITAL HAS BEEN CARING FOR GENERATIONS OF PARENTS AND BABIES SINCE 1745. Founded in 1745 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1756, the Rotunda Hospital is independently governed by a Board of Governors in accordance with the Charter and best practice Governance processes as outlined in the Public Sector Code for Corporate and Financial Governance in Public bodies. It is one of the busiest maternity units in Europe, being responsible for the care of over 10,000 women annually. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (Master. REF: 2021/171. We are seeking a candidate with full registration in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners of Ireland or entitled to be so registered. The successful candidate must be in possession of the MRCOG or the MRCPI in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or the MAO degree of a recognised university, or a higher professional qualification at least equivalent to one of these, with at least seven years satisfactory experience (after primary medical qualification) in the practice of the medical profession, at least five of which were devoted to obstetrics and gynaecology. Executive Management or similar Leadership Experience is essential. The successful candidate will be a practising obstetrician/gynaecologist and demonstrate the ability to perform higher executive tasks consistent with leadership of a complex organisation, that has both public health service responsibilities as well as responsibilities to the board of the Hospital. The post is a whole time post for seven years commencing 1st January 2023. On completion of the term of office, the Master may remain on the Consultant Staff until reaching retirement age subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Consultant Contract. This post is a Category B consultant appointment and the salary will be in accordance with the Department of Health consolidated pay scales applicable at Jan 1st 2023 with private practice entitlements, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Consultant Contract and directions from the Minister for Health.
