Description

A leading Fin Tech group is seeking a Senior SQL Administrator to join their team in South Dublin. The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for the optimal performance and security of databases, systems implementation, maintenance and support. Key Responsibilities: Administration and maintenance of SQL Server databases. Implementation of IT controls and database performance optimisation. Ensure documentation standards and procedures for operations are in place. Actively seek and evaluate opportunities for process improvement. Install and manage database servers. Tune performance, defragging, maintain and verify database backups & review operational logs. Create & troubleshoot extract, transform & load (ETL) SSIS packages and daily data file loads. Develop stored procedures, QA and release changes to the database made by other developers. Manually synchronize database objects and data between development, staging, live and source control environments. Ensure all developed SQL Server components function flawlessly in a production environment with stringent uptime standards. Responsible for ensuring availability and optimal performance of the SQL databases that support the business systems. Support, develop, and maintain multiple SQL Server Database and data replication subsystems. Maintain and monitor all redundancy and disaster recovery configurations for SQL systems. Support all departments with requests related to SQL database, such as ad-hoc reports/analysis, new database deployments. Collaborate with application developers to support the development process including database design, security, query optimization and performance. Identify and troubleshoot issues and tune all SQL databases for maximum performance. Investigate and resolve difficult and advanced database application and connectivity problems and performance issues, working individually and in coordination with the Operations and application support teams. Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions. Troubleshoot and resolve MS SQL issues in production environment. Implementation and release management of database changes according to agreed timeframes. Provide 24/7 database support. Independently able to lead projects and duties as assigned. Mentor Junior DBA's. Key Requirements: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent. Min. 8 years of SQL DBA work experience. Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Advanced Experience with SQL Server stored procedures, Indexes, Views, Functions, troubleshooting/tuning. Advanced Experience with SSIS. Experience with Always ON. Experience with PCI Compliance. Good professional knowledge of English on communicative level. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with limited supervision. Must be able to work with teams across multiple locations. Desirable Skills Experience with any of the following: SSRS/SSAS, Powershell, AlwaysOn Ecription. SolarWinds SQL Server monitoring, TFS, MySQL, Windows OS.
