Consultant in Public Health Medicine – National Screening Service, Health Service Executive, Ireland Ireland’s Public Health service continues to progress a programme of strategic structural reform to implement an enhanced, consultant-delivered model of service delivery aligned to international best practice. The new model will radically change the governance and operating structure within the Health Service Executive (HSE) Public Health function, establish strong clinical leadership across each of the domains of Public Health practice, and embed Public Health clinical leadership and expertise across the health system to optimise impact.  Ireland’s Health Service Executive are currently recruiting for a Consultant in Public Health Medicine – National Screening to lead service improvements and quality assurance across the four national population-based screening programmes within the HSE’s National Screening Service. These include: BreastCheck, CervicalCheck, BowelScreen, and Diabetic Retina Screen (www.screeningservice.ie).  The appointed candidate will be employed as a Medical Consultant and must be registered as a Specialist with the Irish Medical Council in the Specialty of Public Health Medicine within 180 days of interview. This campaign is part of the first phase of a significant two-year recruitment drive for Consultants in Public Health Medicine.
