The Economic and Social Research Institute, founded in 1960, is located in Dublin’s South Docklands area. Its mission is to produce high quality research, relevant to Ireland’s economic and social development, with the aim of contributing to knowledge and informing policymaking and public debate. It has over 100 staff including economists, sociologists and other social scientists, in addition to support and technical staff. Applications are invited for the position of Research Officer in Behavioural and Attitudinal Change in respect of Ireland’s Water Resources to join the Economic Analysis Division. The Research Officer will join the climate, energy and environment team at the ESRI, extending the Institute’s capacity to do research on environment and climate policy issues. Applicants should have a PhD in a quantitative discipline. The successful candidate will have: • A minimum of 4 years’ postdoctoral experience or equivalent. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Excellent writing skills. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday, 11 February 2022 . The ESRI are following Government guidelines regarding COVID-19 and its offices are currently closed. Therefore, each stage of the selection process is likely to be held via video-conference (MS Teams) and the successful candidate will be expected to work remotely in Republic of Ireland for a temporary period until the office reopens.
