Park Superintendent Grade II – Office of Public Works The Office of Public Works is responsible for the conservation, restoration, management and presentation of certain key elements of the States’ portfolio of historic parks, gardens and designed landscape properties at a number of different locations around Ireland. A vacancy currently exists in Dublin for Park Superintendent Grade II. He/She will report to the Chief Park Superintendent (Grade I) and will be responsible for the historic landscape management, arboriculture, horticulture and landscape restoration of the projects/sites assigned to him/her. The successful candidate will have: • A recognised first or second class honours degree in Agriculture Science (taken in Horticulture or landscape Horticulture) or the Master of Horticulture of the Royal Horticultural Society, London, or a recognised equivalent professional qualification.    • A minimum of five years post graduate experience of practical horticulture and practical arboriculture, including experience in the management of historic parks, gardens & designed landscapes. • Previous experience of managing a team including working with and engaging with operational staff and contractors. • Previous experience in the planning and delivery of projects including landscape/horticultural projects to include budget oversight, strong understanding of Health & Safety and the management of external stakeholders.
