Together with our members, we work to ensure that the sector is recognised and respected, adequately resourced and appropriately regulated.  Central to our new strategy is the ambition to become a more authoritative sector voice and we are prioritising this area for all staff so as to increase our impact. In this context we are now recruiting the role of a Campaigns & Advocacy Manager.   The Campaigns and Advocacy Manager will drive the planning, management and implementation of The Wheel’s campaigning and advocacy work, shaping the legislative and public policy environment to better support the work of community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises.   The primary focus of the work will be to maximise the effectiveness of the sector’s voice, driving and delivering on The Wheel’s public policy, advocacy, member mobilisation and campaigning objectives  Key responsibilities of the role include:   Management of The Wheel’s the Public Policy Unit   Support the Director of Public Policy and represent The Wheel (deputising as required), in engagements with members of the Oireachtas, Government, political parties and external forums.  Lead and manage public-policy campaigns including public awareness campaigns, pre-budget campaigns, and occasional election campaigns (local, general, European and Presidential), mobilising and engaging The Wheel’s members in advancing shared objectives and which synchronise and integrate with necessary public affairs actions.   By joining The Wheel you will become part of a movement of people and organisations who believe that by working together we can shape Ireland’s future.   The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, passionate about positive social change.
