Buyer Planner - Engineering. In this key role you will be purchasing, planning, importing engineering parts for product manufacture & then onward export to clients. This is with a well established multinational company who are growing again where you would join a great team. Job Purpose & Content. You will buy electronics/electrical parts and sub-assemblies. be responsible for administration of MRP within the ERP system, project parts planning, buying & Inventory control. Work with the both manufacturing & purchasing Mgrs on requirements planning & MRP setup within the ERP system like BAAN. Daily, weekly & monthly reporting on material availability. Liaise with other team members to ensure that material & production orders are available in a timely manner. Manage escalations with supplier manufacturing & compliance issues to achieve production schedules. Developing supplier relationships & ensure adherence to contractual commitments. Compliance with internal policies, procedures & external governance. Applicant Specification. A 3 rd Level Dip/Degree in a Bus./Supply chain discipline. & ideally (APICS, IIPMM. Min 5 years mfg. exp. in a S/Chain environment (purchasing/planning/inventory control. Working knowledge of MPS & MRP is critical along with purchasing & planning inc. supplier escalations & relationship building. Ideally expert level in MS Access, Excel, ERP -BAAN, & using an SQL database. Good communication skills; can work on own initiative & strong customer service skills. Have used and drafted SOPs & operating to a Quality System in a regulated environment. Show flexibility to changing requirements with a cross functional team in multiple locations. Ensure the timely placement of all transactions (PO's / SO's) in support of business activities. Expedite released PO's, maintain PO dates & resolve PO discrepancies. Work with data maintenance team ensuring correct new product set-up & data within Business Planning DRP/MRP. Cycle counting & inventory/stock mgt., issuing of material to production. Shipping orders to meet customer requirements & work with freight companies & 3rd parties to resolve blockages. Analyse data to solve complex problems & predict outcomes & support decision making. Experience of EU Export controls & Tariff Codes, customs clearance & adherence to International trade compliance. Work in a project engineering environment & with parts data management. Understand Bill of Materials, BOM, ERP & MRP. Have worked in fast paced mfg. environments with exp. in global trade environment ideally & working in ISO9000 environment ideally. A positive Team-working approach & adherence to H&S. Good level of interpersonal & self-presentation skills.
