Project Manager- Engineering Sanderson have teamed up with a public sector client to recruit a Project Manager- Engineering on a fixed term contract. Responsibility: Manage and deliver a suite of Engineering projects. Manage capital-funded projects within area of responsibility. Lead project teams and ensure the projects deliver strategic objectives. Responsible for reporting and compliance on capex projects in accordance with the governance requirements of the funding source. Act as lead point-of-contact for the engineering annual capital budget for Central Engineering function. Monitor and report on capex expenditure against project budgets. Identify issues and take corrective action where required. Work closely with project sponsors to ensure that the projects under their sponsorship are delivered successfully. Prepare projects for handover once completed to include preparation of Project Safety Files and maintenance requirements. Provide leadership, guidance and support to project engineers with a view to building sustainable project management capability within the department. Develop a positive and inclusive working environment and support competence and personal development of all employees within the team. Experience: Level 8 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline. Professional project management qualification (PRINCE 2 preferred. 5 yrs. experience in project management in an engineering or construction related setting. Beings a highly structured approach to their work, while marinating flexibility/agility to changing priorities. Strong communication and documentation skills. Experienced managing multiple work streams, projects and teams. Strong working knowledge of Office 365 suite. Driving license and access to own transport.
