The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) is a specialist bureau that investigates fraud- related crime involving complex issues of criminal law or procedure.   The Forensic Accountant will form part of an investigative team, under Garda management, and will provide the financial and forensic accounting expertise necessary to carry out and complete fraud investigations. Candidates will also be required to prepare reports and may be required to provide oral evidence in criminal judicial proceedings.   Candidates must have at least 4 years’ relevant post-qualification accountancy/audit experience including experience in examining accounts from a fraud or criminal perspective or similar type experience in a regulatory or investigative role, be highly organised and methodical with a proven ability to manage a challenging and diverse workload and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
