Senior Fullstack Application Engineer

Sanderson have teamed up with a telecommunications giant to recruit a Senior Application (Fullstack) Engineer on a 12-month contract basis. You will be responsible for engineering and maintaining features and components across our backend systems and web / mobile application stack. You'll work as part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, UX designers, QA engineers, and product owners, using agile methodologies to design and own applications that help our customers achieve good outcomes, and use feedback from these customers to extend and improve these applications. Responsibilities: Participate in product feature implementation, both independently and in cooperation with your team. Implement changes and new features in a manner which promotes efficient, reusable, and performant code. Liaise with product stakeholders and other teams in the organisation to complete the projects on time and to the highest quality standards. Participate in peer code reviews, manage criteria applied during code reviews. Investigate technical issues during the full development lifecycle, including specific components in production. Provide level of effort estimations for individual and team assignments. Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team. Work with solution architects to define highly detailed specifications for technical solutions. Qualifications, skills, and experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant discipline or six or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant work experience in software development. Passion about technology and willingness to learn and share knowledge. The ability to approach complex problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation, and the drive to get stuck into solving them until the solution can be delivered to the customer. The willingness to take ownership of projects and own them from inception to completion. Experience in sound design principles, engineering best practices, and Agile development methodologies. The ability to mentor and help junior team members with improving their engineering skills and Agile development methodologies. Experience developing scalable microservice architectures. Experience with Cloud programming, ideally Amazon cloud services (AWS) (e.g. Lambda, Kinesis, ElasticCache, ECS) and experience with docker containers. Exposure to distributed caching frameworks (e.g Redis, Memcached) and messaging frameworks (e.g. Kinesis, SQS/SNS, RabbitMQ. Good understanding of the .NET ecosystem (Framework and Core) and C# Experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. Experience writing automated unit and end-to-end tests. Experience with GIT or other revision control system. Experience working with relational (SQL Server, Postgres etc) and NoSQL (Redis, Dynamo, etc) databases. Experience with low level data structure and algorithm design. Strong knowledge of OOA, OOD, SOLID principles and multi-threading. Experience with ELK Stack.
