Description

Senior NPD Technologist - Dublin. In this role you will aid in the development of new products and processes  through the production of sample products to meeting NPD briefs provided by customers, as well as working on internal projects to maximise efficiency of all products produced by the company. The successful candidate will act as a Project Leader and will lead the company’s NPD response to specific opportunities that have been allocated to them. Typically, customers will be seeking solutions to issues they have arising in such areas as flavour, yield, texture and label declaration or seeking ideas for a new range of products they wish to bring to their customers. Core Responsibilities: Take ownership of the NPD process on specific projects that you are allocated by developing new products that respond to customer needs. This will involve the preparation of samples and sample documentation for customer presentations. Complete NPD projects in accordance with the NPD Stage Gate and ensure all projects are progressed by the relevant cross-functional personnel and completed on time. Carrying out taste panels and shelf-life studies, recording and acting on results. Display a commercial awareness when material sourcing for trials and kitchen samples. Seek to develop solutions that minimise the complexity of their manufacture. Actively work to grow and develop a healthy and mutually beneficial customer relationship and represent the company in a professional manner. Identifying and actioning material cost saving initiatives and communicating internally with other key functions. To have a flexible and adaptive approach to R&D issues and play an active role in the development of the NPD team. Work closely with other Divisions to ensure optimum results are achieved. Interested applicants should have: Relevant third level qualification in Food Science. Circa 8 to 10 years' experience, ideally (not essentially) in the value-added meat industry, or in the value-added food industry sector. A strong working knowledge of ingredient functionality. A culinary flair with a good history of developing and matching flavours. Be able to demonstrate a history of new product idea generation. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint etc. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop new products. Excellent communication and technical skills. Ability to work under pressure and to deliver on deadlines.
