Sanderson is partnering with a governing body of horse racing on the island of Ireland. They are recruiting for a strategic and driven Business Development Manager to join our professional team within the company's Commercial Department. In this dynamic role, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for maximising the sales potential of all company's venue's, achieving revenue budgets through business development for all market segments. Key Responsibilities: In conjunction with the Commercial Manager, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing a narrative and strategy to drive new business for the Racecourse Division, supported by a Sales Plan with weekly, monthly and annual sales targets. Line manage the company's Sales Executive, providing direction on sales strategy, KPI's and target marketing. Collaborate with the Racecourse Catering Partners to ensure all F&B offerings and Events are of high quality whilst being efficient. Identify and target new commercial customers and sectors. Achieve business targets through proactive sales, including generating and attending client meetings. Grow business from the existing customer base to meet targets. Seek and develop attractive packages to encourage fund-raising events with the charity/non-profit/sporting & clubs sector. Responsible for meeting and corresponding with all potential clients, handling and converting outbound sales campaigns. Provide accurate weekly sales and activity reports. Working closely with the tourism & travel sector, both for raceday and non-raceday sales responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Developing a strong relationship with Failte Ireland and Tourism Ireland with the aim of establishing horseracing as an important feature in their narrative and promotional campaigns with the aim of increasing sales through these channels. Working with specialised travel companies and generating new travel partners and agents. Work in partnership with the Racecourse Management team & Racecourse Catering & Events Partner to identify, scope and create attractive venue hire packages in relation to the outdoor and 'green field' sites at each racecourse for events. Skills and Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role with management experience. A relevant third level qualification would be an advantage. Experience and knowledge of Corporate Events & Sales is essential. A knowledge of the Tourism sector alongside strong sales experience for the wider C&E Sector would be advantageous. Extensive B2B experience working in a business development role. Knowledge of the racing industry would be an advantage but is not essential. A full clean driver's license is required.
