IT Support Engineer - Dublin 12. Our client is a leading supplier of high quality engineering tools and accessories to the manufacturing industry throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. We are seeking to fill the role of IT Support Engineer, which will be based at the company's offices in Dublin 12. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an IT professional to be involved in a high-tech company and which will involve a wide range of varied and interesting work, as follows: IT Support: • To work with the IT Manager to develop, maintain and provide IT support for all IT infrastructure at group companies. • To support company personnel, including field engineers and sales persons, with their IT equipment - e.g. PC's, laptops, phones, iPADs, printers and software and internet applications used. • To protect the company's IT infrastructure and confidential data, to put in place best-in-practice IT Security and to work to minimise IT security breaches and threats of computer viruses. This to include training and support of personnel and monitoring of potential breaches of security. • To work with the IT Manager on the just commenced project to implement a new company-wide SAP Business One system and which will replace multiple legacy IT systems. • To work with the IT Manager to inventory and continually review and develop the company's IT Strategy, and to propose and implement IT projects which add value to the company. • To continue the implementation and ongoing development of the current data back-up regime for the company, including development and testing of the company's IT Contingency and Disaster Recovery plan. • To support IT measures needed to achieve the company's ISO9001 requirements. IT Support for customers: • Support the IT Manager and the company's Sales Managers in the selling of relevant software products and software maintenance support. • To provide IT support for customers of the company in the implementation and use of software sold and supported by the company.  • To work with customers in the installation of this software, maintenance, software updates, fault resolution and fault escalation to company principals. • To travel to customer sites, occasionally and where required, and where installation and support work cannot be carried out remotely. • To strive for a competent and professional response to customer service demands. • To acquire a knowledge of the equipment sold by the company and to continue your own professional development. • To co-ordinate and co-operate with other staff members to ensure the smooth and professional operation of the company. • To offer technical advice and assistance to customers, by phone, dial-in teleservice and by email. • To observe customers' non-disclosure requirements where they exist. Extensive training on SAP Business One and supported software will be provided both in Dublin and also abroad, e.g. at the company's principal in Germany.
