About the role: Reporting directly to the Provost, the Secretary will work in partnership with Trinity’s senior leadership team ensuring that Trinity’s governance continues to be effective in delivering on its vision, mission, and strategy. The Secretary will be responsible for a diverse range of College activities, including the provision of secretariat services and professional advice to the board and the University Council. The Secretary’s Office is a central administrative office which supports the College and its community across a wide range of activities from communication, to legal and governance. The core mission of the Secretary’s Office is to fulfil the statutory and legal obligations. As Secretary to the College and Director of Governance you will: Be accountable for developing and managing the governance framework within the University. Act a key steward of the College Statutes and Regulations of the University. Lead on all Policy and Regulatory matters within the University. Role model Trinity’s Values and participate fully in the development, execution, and monitoring of the University’s strategy. To be successful in this role you will need: Third-level degree with a minimum of 7 years leading corporate/company secretarial and governance matters in a public or private sector environment. A deep understanding of best practice in corporate governance in line with public sector values and their applicability. The ability to operate successfully at the most senior levels. Proven ability to develop productive working relationships, demonstrating trust and confidence with a variety of partners such as representative bodies and government agencies. Professional or legal qualification or relevant post-graduate qualification (Desirable. Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 1 Salary Scale (€129,707 - €163,964 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
