INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS OFFICER. The Association of Higher Civil & Public Servants (AHCPS) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the full-time position of Industrial Relations Officer (IRO. The Association, a trade union affiliated to ICTU, represents over 3,650 members at senior management level (Principal, Assistant Principal and equivalent) in the Civil Service and in a number of State enterprises. As IRO, candidates must be capable of: • Representing and negotiating on behalf of the members at national, sectoral and local levels, on their terms and conditions of employment, and on professional, management and service-quality issues which impact on those members; • Effectively contributing to the development of strategies and policies in particular in the areas of recruitment and social media. • to protect and enhance the core interests of Association members. The suitably qualified candidate should have proven negotiation, judgement and decision-making skills in an industrial relations context. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of public administration, and of current and emerging trends in public service modernisation, change management, social partnership and pay determination. The successful candidate must have managerial and organisation skills, communication, leadership and team working skills. An attractive remuneration package, at the level of Civil Service Assistant Principal Officer (Higher Level), commensurate with experience, will be offered.
