What does this job do? As a key member of the Engineering Operations Group, the Automation Project Engineer is responsible for the delivery of technical and continuous improvement automation projects for the high-volume highly-automated production processes and equipment aligned with Factory 4. Roles & Responsibilities: This is a project based stand- alone position – executing and delivering on all the projects that the team are unable to undertake. Working on and developing manufacturing execution systems. Deliver complex automation projects plant-wide. Implement PLC, SCADA, Vision and Factory Automation upgrades. Carry out obsolesence assessments for automation assets across the plant and develop remediation plans for same. Support plant wide automation change control and manage software revision control systems. Carry out other relevant tasks as required by the Senior Automation Engineer. The ideal person for this role: You must be either a degree I Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline. You must have previous experience of working within a high speed manufacturing environment. Must have previous excellent project management experience and PMP qualifications. You must have excellent problem solving skills. You will have 9yrs PQE with a Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Equipment Automation, Software or related experience. Expert knowledge of Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation products including capability to write code from specification and experience of development, deployment & maintenance of SCADA / HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider. Experience of High Speed Vision systems (Cognex) and Control Networks & Communication Systems (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet. Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with SQL Server is advantageous. Working in a team of 6 and reporting in to the Senior Automation Manager.
