We are the helpful energy company. Role Responsibility. Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for financial planning, the reporting of key operational and business performance, business analysis and acting as a key interface between Bord Gais Energy and our UK parent, Centrica PLC. The key responsibilities of this role will be ensuring the Irish business is providing the necessary information to our Group stakeholders to ensure the full performance of the business is understood, while supporting internal BGE stakeholders and their awareness of key targets, deliverables and financial implications. Key Accountabilities. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, while providing thoughtful and candid insights into key business maters. Working with the Finance Partner and the Executive Board to provide various forms of financial analysis and reporting in support of business decision-making. Collaborate with both the business units in Ireland and the Group Finance team to ensure the delivery of the annual planning cycle and within year financial forecasts. Understand and clearly articulate the key drivers of variances in our results, working closely with our business partnering team to understand what activity is ongoing in the business. Provide financial support, analysis and reports for monthly and quarterly senior management review meetings to support strategic decision making. Partnering with the business to identify and track key performance metrics pertaining to business operations and communicating this to key stakeholders. Co-ordinate and help drive key messages communicated externally to the market/media as part of our year end / half year reporting. Design/update planning models and reports to facilitate changing business requirements maintaining highest standards of financial analysis. Assist the FP&A Manager with the on-going development and promotion of the Irish FP&A team within the wider Group. Perform ad hoc analysis as required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience. Qualified accountant with 2 years PQE preferably training in Big 4. Highly motivated individual with analytical and commercial mindset. Proficient in the use of Ms Excel and PowerPoint. Modelling skills would offer a distinct advantage. Exceptional written and spoken communication skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organisation including the ability to simplify difficult technical concepts. Ability to work under pressure and has a proven track record of delivering against tight deadlines. Highly organized individual with excellent analytical skills and an ability to develop, implement and report on key metrics. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
