Production Line Manager- Dublin. Position Purpose: Demonstrate strong leadership ability cross functionally to all departments to cultivate high performance behaviors. This will assist in achieving both product line and the greater plant scorecard objectives. You will establish a class leading standard, be goal focused and serve as a role model for the team. The Opportunity: This is a critical leadership position on a new product line to deliver on output targets in a low volume, high complexity, highly regulated environment. You must lead from a position of core knowledge in a complex technical environment, making the ‘right decisions for the business’. You must understand business requirements & strategic direction and be able to translate into required actions for the productive operation of the production line. Cultivate a high performance, self-directed work ethic amongst teams through a people centric leadership style. Facilitate a good working atmosphere by managing conflict or interpersonal differences. Inspire and motivate teamwork building a trusting environment to enable achievement of goals. The role will require a proven track record as a change agent being able to positively influence valuable changes and experience developing high performance teams. Continuously enhance teams capability recognize the skills of key team members and utilize their strengths to the benefit of the team. Support forward oriented performance / talent development and succession planning. Be a mentor & coach to the team and a strong role model both from technical and leadership perspective. You will be accountable for all aspects of the team’s performance, including core output KPI’s and mitigation / corrective action to address process disruptions, process stabilization / development. The technical complexity of our instrumentation products & the implementation of newly developed products into production and the supporting regulatory environment will require core decision making. Therefore these aspects of the role require an individual with a significant level of technical & process expertise coupled with leader-ship skills. The role requires a creative individual who is a critical thinker with the ability to identify true root cause, identify bottlenecks & implement solutions. You will need to be able to plan ahead & deal with frequent challenges that will occur with new product introductions to ensure key targets are achieved. Practical problem solving skills are required to organize team members to achieve successful resolutions. An ability to work across multiple functional areas (Engineering, Procurement, Materials, QA) and develop working relationships to coordinate effective execution of solutions is a given. Continuous process development and CI including improving workmanship standards to enhance process robustness will be a key part of the role. Year on year improvements will be required to ensure business competitive edge is maintained. Experience with manufacturing techniques and process controls is required. The incumbent will report to the head of engineering on site in Dublin and will form part of a flexible Product Team. Capabilities & Skills Competencies : 5-8 years in a similar manufacturing environment and be self-motivated and capable of motivating his/her team members to meet the Team and plant objectives. Third leve l degree qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline or business administration or similar with relevant experience for this role. Experience in complex, multiple technology products in a low to medium volume manufacturing environment. Flexibility is required regarding working out of normal hours and possibly foreign travel on occasion, to support the achievement of objectives. Leadership & Team Development: Lead teams to develop their people, processes and procedures, to achieve a high performance culture. Build strong trust based relationships with own team and cross functionally. Develop and cultivate positive and good employee relations. Self-starter with an ability to set a team standard. Develop strong teams and succession pipelines through coaching, mentoring and by providing opportunities for individual development & growth Contribute to LLT forum and demonstrate strong leadership within the plants LLT. An ability to work across multiple technologies is a key requirement. Strong decision making ability in a highly technical environment. Strong IR / HR understanding and ability to deal with people issues as they arise. High level of emotional intelligence and ability to get the best out of individuals and teams.
