Description

The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment plays a key strategic role in Ireland’s long term economic and social development. The National Cyber Security Centre is part of the Department, and is responsible for leading in the management of major cyber security incidents, providing guidance and advice to citizens and businesses, and managing cyber security related risks to key services, including Government and critical infrastructure. It is also the National Competent Authority for the purposes of EU Directive. 2016/1148 of 6 July 2016 on Network and Information Security.   The Department wishes to recruit Cyber Security Developer/Analysts to fulfil key roles within the National Cyber Security Centre. Reporting to a Cyber Security Specialist, the developer/ analyst will engage in. the broad range of functions associated with a Computer Security Incident Response Team and will work with international CSIRTs, Law Enforcement and industry security teams in response to live and simulated attacks against critical national infrastructure.   Successful candidates will hold a qualification at minimum Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications in computer science or a related relevant discipline; significant experience as a Linux user and have experience of analysing artefacts from cyber security incidents.
