JOB TITLE: Assistant Resident Engineers and Resident Engineers. REF NO: J4605. REPORT TO: Technical Director, Water. LOCATION: Dublin. JOB TYPE: 18 Month Fixed term Contract. RPS is currently recruiting a number of Resident Engineers to join our water services team supervising contracts in the Dublin area. The position will primarily be focusing on water network projects. It is expected that the project will roll out in May/June 2018 with a likely duration of 18 months with a strong view to extension. As a member of the Resident Engineering team you will be responsible for the delivery of the construction phase of water related projects within multidisciplinary environments. The Candidate will ideally have: Level 8 degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate degree would be advantageous. Have at least 3 years’ relevant post graduate experience, preferably supervising Civil Engineering Works. Working knowledge of typical contract forms. Good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations. Experience in leakage control, water networks, rehabilitation. Experience in the preparation of contract documents for water infrastructure. Team Player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), team working skills and analytical skills. Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered. Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS Word and MS Excel in particular, MS Project desirable) and simulation software. The Role: Responsible for the supervision and associated contract administration of construction/survey works. Responsible for carrying out orders and instructions from the Employer’s Representative and Senior Resident Engineer along with such other duties as may be assigned by the Client. Assisting the Senior RE in contractual, measurement and technical matters. Liaising with the Contractors, Local Authorities and other Stakeholders. Monitoring of project compliance with relevant safety, statutory, environmental and waste management obligations. Monitoring quality, progress and report on works being carried out to the Employer’s Requirements and ensure that the Employer’s Representative and Client are fully informed of all issues arising on site. Monitoring the Contractor for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and in doing so utilise any associated Client related instructions or processes. Reviewing of method statements and assessment of contractor’s engineering proposals. Contributing to project team performance by communicating essential information, coordinating actions, reviewing open issues/action items, sharing information in team meetings while focused on project completion within timelines. Enhancing company reputation by taking ownership over new and diverse client requests/challenges, proactively exploring opportunities to add extra value to job accomplishments.
