The Office of Public Works (OPW) has responsibility for the design and supervision of the construction of new buildings required for Government use, the design and fit out of Government office accommodation, the maintenance of Government buildings and the conservation, restoration and care of heritage buildings owned and occupied by the State. Architectural Services within OPW provide design, project management, conservation, maintenance and advisory services for Government and State Agencies’ building and property needs. The Senior Architect will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will undertake a range of responsibilities, including design, construction and advisory projects. The successful candidates will have a recognised architectural qualification and comply with the Registration of Architects, as set out in Section 14 of the Building Control Act, 2007. They will have at least five years’ post-graduate experience, including a record of achievement in the management of architectural and conservation projects. S/he will have strong analytical, problem solving, operational and leadership skills.
