Description

The Attorney General is adviser to the Government in matters of law and legal opinion and a Constitutional Officer. The Office is the central legal service of the State, providing advice and draft legislation and supervising conduct of litigation involving the State. A vacancy now exists for a Research and Training Librarian who will be responsible for the provision and continued development of a high quality information & research service to the staff in the Office of the Attorney General. The successful candidate will also be responsible. for the development and implementation of information skills training programmes and support materials, current awareness services, and will promote the Unit’s expertise and resources within the Office. The successful candidate will have: • A qualification of at least Level 8, having obtained a minimum 2.2 grade, on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in any discipline; • A post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Studies (Level 9 on the NFQ); • At least two years’ relevant post-qualification experience in a customer facing libraryor information service.
