Description

Established Dublin North based freight forwarder now requires an Ocean Freight Supervisor. The successful candidate will supervise a department dedicated to all associated Ocean freight activities. This includes freight capital shipments, inbound shipments, handovers and hazardous deliveries. Duties & Responsibilities: To supervise and manage staff. To take full ownership for all admin and reporting functions, in line with their clients' requirements including query management. To ensure timely and detailed analysis of all service failures and implement appropriate corrective actions to the satisfaction of their client. To take full responsibility for the service levels, customer satisfaction and monthly KPI’s, as expected by the client and in relation to all their shipments. To develop staff and promote a positive working environment. To be receptive to any training courses which the Co. feel appropriate. Ensure processing is in line with quality and safety procedures. Able to maintain and manipulate data on operations systems in order to provide regular reports to managers. IT generalist knowledge –Windows, Word, Excel. Involvement in the training of new staff. Minimum Requirements: Previous (recent) supervisory/Team Leader experience in Ocean Freight Department within a Freight Forwarder in Ireland. Educated to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent. Strong Communication & Administration Skills. Good leadership skills and effective problem solver. Ability to prepare Operational Metrics and present on the same. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word & Power-point. Excellent Customer Service, Reporting and Presentation Skills. Ability to write procedures. Ability to work on own initiative & Capable of maintaining performance in a pressured environment. Terms: Permanent, Full-time. Package: Negotiable depending on experience.
