Intro to the Role. I am now recruiting for one of the most innovative software houses in Dublin. This role is 100% hands-on development so if this does not describe you then it's not really worth reading on :) The role will involve working with a team of 7 or 8 really talented engineers. The most interesting part of the role is that if you're a person who is agnostic with their technology and like to take the initiative and suggest your rationale to select which technologies will be used to develop certain microservices. For example, we are looking for someone who is going to suggest changes, ask why and is a doer. We want you to give your technical rationale as to why we should use this technology for this particular service. The more articulate and passionate you are the better. So if you're a fan of Rust, Go or Scala and feel that certain projects can benefits from these technologies, then put your case forward. Not many companies can offer such fluidity. We are not rigid at all. For the first few months you will work with Java but this could change in 6 months’ time, to perhaps Go. If you write clean code, have a passion for building robust applications, have experience deploying your own services and have passion for owning your code from whiteboard to production then this is a perfect role for you. So the ideal candidate will have the following experience: Have experience with Microservices. Are adept across a few OOP languages such as Java, ++ or Python. Will have exposure to either, SaaS, PaaS or IaaS and general cloud based environments such as AWS or Azure and have used containerisation tools also. You will be well versed in design patterns. You will be familiar with highly scalable distributed systems. You will be used to owning your own code from inception, development, deployment and production. As mentioned, this is a multi-faceted role, it is 100% hands-on engineering, has some architecture duties, mentoring junior developers. This role comes with great benefits: 26 days holidays. Bonus.
